04 Nights / 05 Days Lake Nasser Cruise | Aswan to Abu Simbel Luxury Journey

Sail beyond the traditional Nile route into a quieter, more monumental landscape on a 4-night luxury cruise across Lake Nasser

overview

Sail beyond the traditional Nile route into a quieter, more monumental landscape on a 4-night luxury cruise across Lake Nasser—Egypt’s vast southern frontier where temples rise in isolation and history feels untouched.

Beginning in Aswan and ending at the legendary Abu Simbel Temples, this journey reveals a different dimension of Egypt—one defined not by crowds, but by space, silence, and scale.

Along the way, discover rarely visited temples such as Kalabsha, Wadi El Seboua, Amada, and Dakka—each relocated stone by stone during UNESCO’s rescue campaign. Guided by a private Egyptologist, this cruise offers a deeper, more contemplative encounter with Nubian heritage and ancient Egyptian power

Itinerary

Day 01 – Aswan & The Gateway to Nubia

Arrival in Aswan, where your journey moves beyond the familiar Nile into the vast expanse of Lake Nasser. Board your luxury cruise and begin with a visit to the impressive Kalabsha Temple, one of the largest free-standing Nubian temples, dedicated to the god Mandulis. Relocated to higher ground, it stands today as a powerful symbol of preservation and resilience. Continue to the nearby temples of Beit El Wali and Kiosk of Kertassi, where smaller structures reveal delicate carvings and quieter stories. Return to your vessel as the cruise begins its slow passage southward into open water. Overnight: Lake Nasser

Day 02 – Wadi El Seboua: The Valley of Lions

Sail deeper into Nubia, where the shoreline feels distant and time slows completely. Arrive at Wadi El Seboua, the “Valley of the Lions,” named after the sphinx-lined avenue leading to the temple. Visit the remarkable Wadi El Seboua Temple, originally built by Ramses II and later transformed during the Roman period. Continue to the temples of Dakka and Meharakka, where Greek and Roman influences blend with traditional Egyptian forms. Return onboard and continue sailing through one of Egypt’s most remote and peaceful landscapes. Overnight: Lake Nasser

Day 03 – Amada: A Hidden Masterpiece

Today reveals one of Lake Nasser’s most refined treasures. Visit the beautifully preserved Amada Temple, the oldest temple in Nubia, known for its vibrant reliefs and intimate scale. Nearby, explore the Temple of Derr and the Tomb of Pennut, offering insight into Nubian administration during the New Kingdom. These sites, rarely crowded, allow for a deeper and more personal connection to Egypt’s past. Return to your cruise and continue sailing toward the south. Overnight: Lake Nasser

Day 04 – Kasr Ibrim & Arrival to Abu Simbel

This morning, view the fortress of Kasr Ibrim from the deck—the only Nubian monument left in its original location, rising dramatically above the waters. Continue sailing toward Abu Simbel, where anticipation builds as the desert reveals one of Egypt’s most iconic sites. Enjoy your final evening onboard, surrounded by stillness and the vastness of Lake Nasser. Overnight: Abu Simbel

Day 05 – Abu Simbel: Temples of Power & Legacy

Disembark and visit the monumental Abu Simbel Temples, carved directly into the mountainside by Ramses II. These colossal structures, aligned with the sun and relocated in one of the greatest engineering feats of the modern era, stand as a testament to both ancient ambition and contemporary preservation. After your visit, your Lake Nasser journey comes to an end.
